Patent and Corporate Counsel
Mr. Fullerton serves as Patent and Corporate Counsel for AMI since November 2015. Dan is responsible for advising on intellectual property matters including patent, trademark, and trade secret protection and licensing, as well as corporate formation and governance.
Prior to joining AMI, Mr. Fullerton was an associate at Knobbe, Martens, Olson & Bear, LLP, where he specialized in intellectual property law with a focus on intellectual property litigation and patent preparation and prosecution in the medical device field. He also has significant experience with inter partes review and covered business method review proceedings.
Mr. Fullerton earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biomedical Engineering from the USC Viterbi School of Engineering in 2009, graduating cum laude. At Viterbi, Dan was a USC Merit Research Scholar and a 2008 recipient of the USC Provost’s Summer Research Fellowship, with research involving development of an ultrasonic navigation system for tracking an endovascular catheter.
Mr. Fullerton earned a Juris Doctor from the USC Gould School of Law in 2012. During law school, Dan was a Supervisor in the USC Intellectual Property and Technology Law Clinic, where he worked on various copyright and other intellectual property matters for individuals and non-profits.
Mr. Fullerton is a member of the State Bar of California, and is registered to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office.
